Speaking of humanity… Here’s another great way to reconnect to your fellow planet dwellers.
Interactive Animated Heart
Utterly fascinating… use the slider to reveal the “glass” heart’s muscles, chambers and valves.
My two favorite general purpose sipping (i.e. awesome quality casual sipping or mixing tequilas) tequilas are both reposados. From the town of Tequila in the heartlands of Jalisco comes Fortaleza, made by Guillermo Erickson Sauza (fifth generation in the Sauza family). El Tesoro Reposado is made in the highlands town of Arandas by the Camarena family.
I’m always on the lookout for “What is good tequila?”

Viscosity - ees for fun
One of my constant struggles, the one that occurs every time I flip open my Powerbook, is the struggle between “consuming” and “creating”.
Cooking (and eating) is my favorite method of addressing this struggle. And the Wok my preferred canvas. But I’ll be damned if my intention to create—using this masterwork of technology, the personal computer, with its millions of colors and orchestral range of instruments, and access to the whole wide world—isn’t constantly foiled by my curiosity. And by the staggering amount of brilliant voices, phenomenal images, and delicious sounds available at the upstroke of a finger click.
That said, I think the “Viscosity is a modern art generator” is a nice combination of both create and consume. Hmmmm…. I bet a little screen-capture on the “watch” section with some music to make it dance could be interesting…

Ah pictures… some definitely are worth lots of words while others defy words altogether.
I find the ones on The Boston Globe’s new photo weblog — The Big Picture — fall into the latter category. Simply captivating.

Currently admiring…
Alison Gannett
Why?
- walks her talk
- apparently unfamiliar with the word ‘fear’
- designed and built her straw bale home
- started 6 non-profits to battle climate change
- and oh so many more reasons… (link)
- also clearly fearless
- is the purest expression of my alter-ego, lost twin I’ve ever encountered
- lives his talk
- wears pink like nobody’s bizness
- blazing the path of a global digital group hug
- what more can I say?
My sincerest thanks to both of you for tipping the scales on the side of hope and light and love…

Self-promo: The Music method
Heard of The Music?
If you haven’t, and you like your Rock to have a noticeable Rush influence then you should check them out. Period. But even if Rock-a-la-Rush ain’t your thang, I’ve gotta hand it to them for this promotional idea:
Strength in Numbers (links to the band’s promo streaming site)
They release more songs off their forthcoming “Strength in Numbers” album as more people offer up email addresses.
Sidebar: “album” has become an antiquated term hasn’t it. It will always mean vinyl to me as I still have records and a record player, but my Dictionary widget defines it as LP record, cassette or CD. iTunes uses calls ‘em albums, but it’s definitely a folder of files or tracks when it hits my hard drive.
I know, I know… it’s a silly bit of semantics, but I find it fascinating to watch language evolve. And to mix metaphors.

WinePod Personal Winery

Honestly, I don’t know what I struggle with more:
- the size of this giant wine glass looking contraption in the lady’s kitchen
- the complexity of the process, which apparently requires a PC and software to make the magic happen. And here I thought you just mashed up some grapes and put it in a barrel.
- or the distinct possibility that you’ll end up paying $30 a glass for first 500 glasses for vino that tastes like 3-day old Charles Shaw.
